10 Major Challenges Terminator Genisys Faces

10. Getting Past That Stupid Name

Seriously, Genisys? What is up with that? The Terminator titles previously may have been stumbling down a slippery slope of relevance (Judgement Day because, well, they're coming up to Judgement Day, when everything gets blown up by nuclear weapons) to those sort of vaguely-portentous subtitles that get slapped on every Hollywood action sequel (what Salvation were we waiting for in that one? Salvation from Christian Bale's insanity? From that weird summer where charisma vacuum Sam Worthington starred in every blockbuster?), but at least they used words that made sense. And were spelt properly. Some misspellings work. The Pursuit Of Happyness has its mistake explained in the film, and Se7en gets excused because it was the nineties. Terminator: Genisys, though? What does that even mean? Allegedly the "sys" has got something to do with €œsystem€, as in the computer term relating to the critical files that the system depends on to function properly. According to Paramount Pictures that's going to be integral to the plot but, like, it was integral to every Terminator film so far. Early in development they were using the actual spelling of Genesis, so hopefully they'll revert to that, or the film will be good enough for audiences to look past the stupidity.
