10 Major Concept Changes That Almost Happened In Comic Book Movies
3. Galactus Was Almost Actually Galactus
Ugh. The version of Galactus that we were presented with in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer was nothing short of a disgrace. Instead of being the godlike humanoid figure from the comic books, all we got was a faceless cloud that would encompass the Earth and devour it without saying a word. However, concept art by Daniel J. Cox shows that Fox were actually considering portraying the character in a more familiar way. The art shows a giant figure reaching down towards Earth in the middle of a giant cloud and, although the idea of actually showing Galactus was scrapped, the guys who decided on the final version of the character insist that we are still expected to believe that the humanoid Galactus was indeed in the middle of the cloud we saw. Sadly, the closest thing we got was a brief shot a shadow on Saturn in the shape of Galactus' helmet as he headed towards Earth across space.
