2. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Gwen Stacy Dies
Arguably the biggest revelation of this entire list is also one of the most expected. Thanks to some leaked set images showing Emma Stone dressed in a familiar looking ensemble while filming what will presumably be a key scene in the sequel, we've all been treated to a major tease that we're going to see one of the most iconic story arcs in Spider-Man's formative years. Which of course looks remarkably like the outfit seen in the moment in the June 1973 (#121) issue of "The Amazing Spider-Man" when Gwen Stacy is thrown from a bridge by the Green Goblin, and Spidey inadvertently breaks her neck in his efforts to save her, killing his love. Okay, so it's more than a similarity, that is the exact same outfit, and it can be no coincidence that Stone is pictured on a bridge. So it seems we are indeed going to see the death of Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The death would also explain why Mary Jane was cast and then cut from the film, presumably because the film-makers felt that establishing a new relationship (even just the seeds of one) immediately after the death of the hero's first love might be a little too quick. They're right. Which of course, also lends itself to another Amazing Spidey spoiler...
