10 Major New DC Extended Universe Rumours You Need To Know
8. Some Big Spinoffs Could Be In The Works
Birds of Prey failed to take flight during its opening weekend, so the chances of characters like Huntress and Black Canary showing up in their own movies down the line could be slim. However, Variety shared a very interesting rumour not too long ago claiming that not only are the stars of that film contracted for spin-offs, but key members of The Batman cast are as well.
The identities of those actors hasn't been revealed, but it seems like a safe bet to say that Zoe Kravitz is a top contender because Warner Bros. would no doubt love to launch a new franchise revolving around Catwoman (it's also possible she could be used in that long-delayed Gotham City Sirens movie).
How The Batman director Matt Reeves would feel about that is another matter, though, because if he does indeed have plans for an entire trilogy, spin-offs could negatively impact the story he has mapped out. Regardless, it's definitely exciting to think about how both the Birds of Prey and Batman franchises could expand in the not too distant future.
