10 Major On-Set Clashes That Almost Ruined Recent Movies

With filming for 2017’s imaginatively titled Fast 8 now complete, relations between the racing franchise’s co-stars have apparently made a severe U-turn. Recently The Rock took to Facebook and laid the smack down on Vin Diesel, calling him out for being a ‘candy ass’ and ‘chicken sh*t.’

Apparently Vin Diesel’s punctuality was a major issue, holding up filming for Fast 8 significantly. In response, Vin Diesel released a rather cryptic message on Instagram promising to ‘reveal everything’-tantalising as that sounds Vin actually revealed nothing. A heated ‘meeting’ between the co-stars seemed to resolve even less and Vin allegedly fled the set just minutes after filming finally ceased. Suggestions of a blossoming rivalry over who has the best body have led to rumours of a resulting WWE match.

But if we smell what the Rock is really cooking here, it’s probably all a publicity stunt. Despite the success of the franchise, people’s interest in the films may be on the wane. Vin Diesel insists there will be 10 instalments of the franchise altogether, with Fast 10 (or whatever it’s called) earmarked for a 2021 release.

That would mark a staggering 20 year reign for an original film that was basically a rip-off of Kathryn Bigelow’s Point Break, transported to racing cars instead of surfing. The Fast franchise has often emphasized that there is a ‘family’ culture about the films, hard to know it this one is a squabble or a sign of deeper dysfunction.
