10 Major Predictions For The Fantastic Beasts Sequels
8. Colin Farrell Will Return As Graves (Who Is Actually Still Alive)
At the end of Fantastic Beasts, it becomes apparent that Farrell's character Graves is Grindelwald in disguise, begging multiple questions like "how did he disguise himself? Polyjuice?" and "where is the real Graves?".
For my money, Farrell's performance was absolutely one of the most compelling aspects of the film, so I don't think we've seen the last of him. The assumption the audience is supposed to make is that Graves has been killed and replaced by Grindelwald, but it'd be an effective surprise if he's actually still alive and was merely incapacitated, similar to the fate of Mad-Eye Moody.
Even more effective would be to see Graves in a more heroic role, helping the likes of Newt and Tina. Perhaps he could explain Grindelwald and his history to Newt, given his position as Auror. This would clue Newt - and the audience - into the larger threat of Grindelwald, and his context within the magical world.
