10 Major Predictions For The Fantastic Beasts Sequels
5. Tina And Leda Will Clash Over Newt
At the end of Fantastic Beasts, it appears like Newt and Tina are beginning to grow found of one another, with Newt awkwardly asking whether or not he can return to America to see her. Mere scenes beforehand, however, it's established that Newt is still hurting over a past relationship with a woman named Leda Lestrange, who he has not seen in many years.
Who Leta is and why they grew apart will be touched upon in the next film, with Leta making an unexpected return into Newt's life. This appearance will throw whatever developments have occurred between Tina and Newt into question, and will be the source of emotional conflict.
In fact, Leda Lestrange is almost certainly directly related to Bellatrix, one of the antagonist's from the Harry Potter series. Could Leta be her grandmother? Perhaps whatever happens between Newt and Leda - and their inevitable encounters with Grindelwald - are what begin the Lestrange family on a dark path?
