10 Major Predictions For The Fantastic Beasts Sequels

4. Grindelwald Will Come After Tina For The Elder Wand

We know from Harry Potter that at some point in the past, Grindelwald bests Mykew Gregorovitch, a famous wandmaker, and steals the Elder Wand, the source of immense magical power. In fact, it's one of the things that ultimately leads Voldemort to killing Grindelwald.

It's likely, then, that around the time of Fantastic Beasts, Grindelwald is in possession of the Elder Wand. At the very end of the movie, Tina disarms Graves (who is, in fact, Grindelwald). If he were in possession of the wand at that time, then disarming him would technically mean Tina is the true owner of the wand.

This would give Grindelwald the perfect motivation to come after Tina in the next film, breaking out of prison in order to take back the wand. This could even be what draws Newt back to New York, kicking off the events of the second film.
