A sci-fi movie starring Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Rebecca Ferguson, and written by the guys behind Zombieland and Deadpool, Life already had enough about it to sound reasonably exciting.

And then the Super Bowl spot happened.

The tease, which was used to point us in the direction of the new full trailer for the movie, does an excellent job of setting things up. It's a tense, taut sci-fi affair, which sees the crew heading off to the ISS to investigate a sample from Mars.

While they already believe it could be the hint of extraterrestrial life, it quickly transpires it's far more advanced than they could've imagined - and that's when sh*t really goes wrong. The imagery - which includes a couple of attacks - is suitably creepy, and while it doesn't give away much it does really showcase the haunting atmosphere, which helps give off those massive Alien vibes.

We may be getting Covenant this year too, but Life could be the 'Alien' film to beat.
