Doctor Strange has already been announced as a future Marvel Studios movie in Phase 3 €“ but, despite rumours that Johnny Depp would play the Sorcerer Supreme himself, no one has been cast yet. A powerful sorcerer who protects Earth from magical threats, Strange is a character who's been around for over 50 years but has never found a mainstream audience. Marvel have decided that the character and his rich history would make for some exciting movies €“ and I think they're right. He's a key character in the Illuminati €“ a group of the highest intellectuals in the Marvel U, including Tony Stark, T'Challa/Black Panther (another potential Marvel movie), and Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic €“ who are in possession of the Infinity Gems which, when collected together with the Infinity Gauntlet, create one of the most powerful objects in the Marvel Universe. The Infinity Gauntlet is also the best Thanos storyline, the character who appeared at the end of The Avengers movie. Slap a moustache and goatee on Wilson, give him a few minutes screen time in Ant-Man, and Doctor Strange the movie would be on its feet and away!
