10 Marvel Characters That Should Be Made Female In The Movies

2. Captain America

Marvel recently made headlines by putting African American character Sam Wilson (a.k.a. The Falcon) in Captain America's suit, but most fans are convinced that it will be Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier who ends up wielding the shield in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Time will tell on that one, but it would be very cool to see Marvel go down an entirely different route for this Star Spangled Avenger in the near future. That could be with a reboot which turns Steve Rogers into a woman, or a more logical move in regards to storytelling by having someone like Black Widow take over the mantle following Cap's death. That rumoured Black Widow movie doesn't seem anywhere closer to being made after all! Scarlett Johansson has turned herself into a serious box office draw, something which is evident from the success of Lucy and will no doubt be the case as she steps into the lead role in Ghost in the Shell. Natasha may not have believed that she was worthy of picking up Thor's hammer in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but it's hard to imagine anyone complaining about her suiting up and picking up the shield in a future Captain America movie.
