10 Marvel Characters That Should Be Made Female In The Movies

3. Spider-Man

Before Sony made a deal with Marvel Studios, they were plotting a female led spinoff. No one knows who that would have focused on, but leaked Sony Hack emails revealed that they were intrigued by the idea of a Spider-Gwen movie. That would have possibly seen Emma Stone reprise the role, and if that story is set in a universe of its own like in the comic books (where Peter Parker died instead of Gwen), bringing her back could work perfectly. Spider-Gwen has developed a devoted fan following since being introduced as part of the Spider-Verse event, and while it's definitely a long shot to think Marvel would ever have considered alienating hardcore fans by making Peter a woman in their reboot, it's a shame in some ways that didn't happen! However, there's actually no reason why it should. Spider-Man's world is full of great female characters, some of whom are simply female heroes who took on the Spider-Woman mantle, and even one who is his daughter in an alternate universe (that would be Spider-Girl). It's inevitable and essential that one of them shows up at some point in the near future, and one of Peter's classmates being named Jessica Drew for example would no doubt leave fans positively manic with anticipation. However, if they want to move ahead with a spinoff movie, it has to be Spider-Gwen...
