10 Marvel Characters That Should Be Made Female In The Movies

9. Venom

Sony have been working on a Venom movie for years now, and even after a writer, director, and release date were announced, it still didn't seem to gain any real traction. Their deal with Marvel has completely derailed it, and while rumours pointed to them ditching Eddie Brock in preference of Flash Thompson, going back to the drawing board would be smart. Whether it's in a spinoff or one of the new Spider-Man movies, Venom - who was introduced in disappointing fashion in Spider-Man 3 - needs to be retooled. One solution would be to change the character's gender, creating a new kick ass female villain. That's something the Marvel Studios movies (and superhero movies in general) have been sorely lacking, and a female Venom could be potentially a lot more frightening than the stereotypical bulked up muscular male one. There was a female Venom in the comics, but that's not something which lasted long or had any sort of impact on the character. Sony has so far neglected many of Spider-Man's best female supporting characters, and despite the fact that this would be a simple gender swap, it could still be a massive positive for this new franchise. Ultimately, if it doesn't work (and there's really no reason why it wouldn't), the Venom symbiote finding a new host is obviously always on the table.
