10. Howard Stark

Revealing that Howard Stark is somehow still alive would be a bold move on Marvel's part, and it would have to be handled very carefully if they would want fans to buy into his return. Is it so hard to believe though? What if he somehow discovered the Infinity Formula which kept Nick Fury and Dum Dum Dugan alive in the comics for decades without ageing? With the right story, this could be amazing (just imagine Robert Downey, Jr. and John Slattery playing off each other). But what could bring Howard back? Well, many fans believe that a big part of what starts the Civil War between Captain America and Iron Man in the 2016 movie will be the reveal that The Winter Solider murdered Howard and Maria Stark. As a result, it appears as if Howard's role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be one which is more important in death than in life. However, he's still playing a big role in other periods of time with a younger version in Agent Carter and Slattery set to return for Ant-Man flashbacks, so a way of keeping him around might be revealed in one of those. Probably not though.
