10 Marvel Cinematic Universe Moments When Characters Failed At Life

4. The Soldiers Can't Get The Flag (Captain America: The First Avenger)

At an American military training camp, the still skinny and frail Steve Rogers is out for a run (albeit lagging behind by some distance) with his unit. During the run, the drill sergeant points out a flag that represents the halfway point of the exercise. He says that any man who can get the flag (situated at the top of a flag pole) to him will get a ride home with Agent Peggy Carter in her jeep. The sergeant also says that nobody has managed this feat in seventeen years. Immediately, everyone apart from Rogers clambers to climb the pole, not realising something extremely obvious. After they all fail, Rogers simply pulls the pin out from the bottom of the pole, causing it to drop to the floor. He then walks over to the flag, picks it up and hands it to the sergeant, saying "thank you, sir" as he does so. By using logic instead of brute force, he made the rest of his unit look like epic failures.
