10 Marvel Cinematic Universe Theories Better Than What's In The Movies

7. Uncle Ben Inspired Peter Parker's Love Of "Old" Movies

Ever since we first met Tom Holland's Spider-Man, he's shared his love of "old movies" like The Empire Strikes Back and Aliens. The wall-crawler even showed that he has a love of filmmaking with the home video Spider-Man: Homecoming kicked off with, and the prevailing theory is that Uncle Ben is what inspired this love of classic films.

It's nice to think that a young Peter was shown the classics mentioned above by his Uncle, and this is a touching way to incorporate Ben Parker into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (something which Marvel Studios certainly hasn't done thus far...we've not even heard that classic "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" line).

A previous fan theory claimed that Peter was the young boy wearing the Iron Man mask the Armoured Avenger protected at the Stark Expo in Iron Man 2.

Kevin Feige later made that canon, but something he's yet to comment on is the equally sweet suggestion that it was actually Uncle Ben who took his young nephew there and sparked his interest in science.
