Audiences got their first look at the MCU's Nova Corps in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, but did you also know that the Nova - Richard Rider - was included in the film's earliest drafts?

Indeed, the Human Rocket has long been a topic of conversation among the MCU faithful, and, while Guardians 2 didn't feature any reference to the character, there's a good chance that Marvel have plans for him (and that a reference will pop up in Captain Marvel).

For those who don't know, Richard Rider is among the first Earthlings to have been given the Nova armour. His origin is heavily derivative of Green Lantern's own, what with an alien crash landing on earth and bestowing his power to the first human he sees and all. But still, he's a brilliant character in his own right, and one that would easily slot into an Avengers line-up equipped to tackle cosmic threats.
