7. RoboCop - Uh, RoboCops

Cyborgs - Robocop We don't have RoboCops - let's start with that and move on. We also don't have governments run by Corpora...ha! Sorry, couldn't finish that sentence. But, we still don't have any big mech-style robots with doom guns and definitely no RoboCops. Now, RoboCop claims that it is set in "the near future" but unless every other technological breakthrough in the last twenty-five years is scrapped in favour of going back to 80's cars, phones and fashion sense, we would guess that RoboCop's dystopian representation of the future probably hasn't and won't happen.
