Death race 2000 is one of those silly films that you are really not meant to take too seriously, probably. That said, however, we were quite looking forward to taking our part in the first Death Races at the turn of the millennium. But no, just like the millennium bug that was supposed to finish off Windows 98, the Death Races turned out to be a myth and our dreams died. Instead in the year 2000, Sylvester Stallone was nowhere to be seen because action movies had stopped being good 10 years earlier, and the only points you got for running down someone's granny were points on your licence, which hardly seems fair in a society which is getting older and pension payments are crippling the economy.
