6. Who Was The Final Entity? - It Follows
It Follows is one of the creepiest horror movies of recent years, following (ho hum) a girl named Jay as she’s stalked by a supernatural creature who is constantly walking towards her. It’s relentless in its quest, and can take the form of anybody, including people she loves.
During the climax Jay seems real upset by the form the demon has taken, though she never explains why. It just looks like a dude with a beard. Well, if you keep your eyes peeled during the scenes in Jay’s house, you’ll realise you've seen this bearded guy before; it’s her dead father.
The movie drops all sorts of clues about his fate; her mother is an alcoholic, her sister gets upset when he's mentioned and he hasn't aged since the photo was taken, despite Jay being a kid when it was snapped. The director doesn't spell this out, but all the hints are there.
