You really have to hand it to Kodi Smit-McPhee. Despite the fact that he would be faced with the prospect of replacing one of the most beloved X-Men movie performances in Alan Cummings' take on Nightcrawler in X-Men 2, he stepped up to play the rebooted version of the character for X-Men: Apocalypse.

It didn't necessarily go to plan, but Smit-McPhee certainly looked the part thanks to his almost alien looks and long limbs and he continued to look good but be let down by the material in Dark Phoenix too.

But before all of that happened, he was actually cast for the role of young Logan in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (for the prologue sequence where we learn he's a mutant), but turned it down to go and star in The Road instead.
