10 MCU Actors Who Appeared In Character Outside The Movies

The Hulk vs. Ant-Man made it into a commercial, but not the Marvel Cinematic Universe itself.

Since launching with Iron Man in 2008, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded in ways most fans never could have imagined. While The Avengers was once a movie it was impossible to imagine ever becoming a reality, the hope now is that Marvel Studios will eventually release a massive crossover event incorporating them, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and even Spider-Man.

Time will tell on that front, but as the MCU has grown, so too has its impact outside of that shared world. Over the years, actors from these movies have appeared in character away from their respective franchises, whether it's in TV shows, short films, or even some pretty crazy commercials.

Characters like Ant-Man, Spider-Man, Thor, Captain Marvel, and even the Guardians of the Galaxy have made their respective presences felt elsewhere, and the actors who play them have all had great fun staying in character in different surroundings. Honestly, it's just a shame that some of these moments were never given the opportunity to play out on the big screen!

The MCU may be on pause at the moment, but when it's business as usual again for that shared world, it will be interesting seeing whether we get anything as fun as these...

10. Ant-Man Steals The Hulk's Drink

If you're a die-hard comic book fan but hate sports, it's still worth tuning into the Super Bowl every year. Why? Well, a new look at an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie is all but guaranteed, but back in 2016, fans received an unexpected surprise in the form of a Marvel-themed Cola commercial.

Some serious money was spent on this one, as a fully CGI Ant-Man (voiced by Paul Rudd) is shown stealing a mini Coke from Bruce Banner's lab before being pursued by The Hulk. Unfortunately, Mark Ruffalo was nowhere to be seen, but the Jade Giant looked great, and it was a blast watching these two causing chaos in the Big Apple.

Now, this isn't canon as Ant-Man and The Hulk had never met at this point (in fact, the Green Goliath would have been on Sakaar by now), but it's one heck of a team-up that has never really been fully explored in the MCU itself.

The two heroes did cross paths - at last - in Avengers: Endgame, but not for anything as wacky as this!
