9. The Guardians Of The Galaxy Will Lose A Member Or Two

It has been a long, long, long time coming, but the Guardians of the Galaxy will finally return next year. Though they've been a part of Infinity War and Endgame, and will have a small role in Thor: Love and Thunder, Volume 3's release will come a full six years after Volume 2.

In the team's first movie, they lost Groot, and in the sequel, they lost Yondu. Even in Infinity War they lost Gamora, and there is no reason to think that the hero killing will stop next year. James Gunn has a whole team to choose from to bite the bullet, but there are two key members that stand out above the rest.

Rocket Raccoon has been on a journey from the very beginning, one that has already been teased to finally come full circle in Volume 3. This sounds almost too ominous to ignore, with Rocket's fate potentially already sealed, but what about Drax?

When the one they called the Destroyer became a Guardian of the Galaxy, his sole motivation was to see Thanos dead. Along the way he devolved into pure comic relief, and with the Mad Titan now gone for good, is there really any story left to tell?
