10 MCU Character Changes We Will Likely See In Phase 4

8. M'Baku Will Become The King Of Wakanda

There has already been a question over who ruled Wakanda during the Blip. T'Challa was gone for five long years, meaning someone must have stepped up to the throne until Hulk snapped his fingers, at which time the Black Panther seemingly took back his crown with no questions asked.

With the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman, and Marvel Studios' confirmation that his character won't be reprised through Rogue One-esque CGI, the question of the ruler of Wakanda will once again be asked in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Of the theorised candidates that ruled in T'Challa's absence, M'Baku arguably makes the most sense. He already led the Jabari Tribe, he was a fearsome warrior, charging next to Captain America in the fight against Thanos, and it's unlikely that anyone but T'Challa would have defeated him in combat should there have been a challenge for the throne.

If it was M'Baku who ruled during the Blip, then why would anyone else be brought in now? Winston Duke was a wonderful addition to the MCU back in 2018, and there could be no one to object to a larger role in 2022.
