After the first five series on Disney+ focused on supporting MCU characters, giving them the chance in the limelight like never before, Moon Knight was the first to revolve around a character brand new to the franchise. This however, was just the beginning.

After six episodes of getting to know Steven Grant and Marc Spector, the show finally introduced Khonshu's new avatar and the man people had known was coming since the very beginning. Episode six's only post-credit scene brought Jake Lockley to the party.

Where Marc and Steven refused Khonshu's order to kill Arthur Harrow, the far more brutal Jake had no issue. He was unhesitating in killing innocent orderlies at the hospital in order to get to Harrow, then shot the man who housed Ammit's spirit without question. A tease like that can only lead to much more of Moon Knight in the future, only with Jake Lockley in the driving seat a lot more than before.

While Moon Knight was already relatively dark, one of the darker MCU properties to date, he is now all but guaranteed to go darker. Whether there is a second season of the show, or Khonshu and his avatar rock up somewhere else in the franchise, Moon Knight is about to get brutal.
