10 MCU Character Changes We Will Likely See In Phase 4

5. Shuri Will Become The Black Panther

While T'Challa held both the title of Black Panther and King of Wakanda, the two positions don't necessarily come hand in hand. It wasn't until his father's death that T'Challa added King to his resume, meaning that both titles need not be taken by the same character moving forward.

Even if M'Baku does become the nation's King, there is no reason to think he would also become the Black Panther. That distinct honour seems destined to go to T'Challa's younger sister when Wakanda returns to MCU screens later this year.

In her first appearance, she showed that she is not to be messed with in a fight, and as the younger sibling of the previous Black Panther she may be the perfect candidate to take on the role. When you consider that she took on the mantle in the comics previously, it's hard to imagine anyone but Letitia Wright suiting up in Wakanda Forever.

One of the most important aspects of the Black Panther is the technology and vibranium native to Wakanda, and with Shuri designing and testing every piece of kit before it went to T'Challa anyway, her ascension to the role herself only makes more sense.
