10 MCU Characters Fans Love To Hate

Some folks just can't catch a break, huh?

After long being the source of many an eye-roll at just how in the holy hell he was able to keep up with some of the most powerful beings in MCU existence with just a bow and f***ing arrow, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye was given the short end of the stick once again during Endgame as Clint Barton watched his pal Black Widow sacrifice herself to save half of life in the universe.

Before you knew it, fans were quick to once again blast the routinely frustrating Avenger for not being the one to bite the Soul Stone bullet, especially after being a bit of a savage monster throughout the five Blip years as Ronin. And even the Hawkeye Disney+ show made the wise decision to focus more on the Young Avengers future that is Kate Bishop and fleshing out the ground-level threats the MCU has to offer - looking at you, Kingpin - than trying to get their supporters to champion the questionable and often laughable hero.

That's not to say that Barton didn't get his chance to show new depth as a battered and emotionally beaten assassin trying to leave the world in a better place than he found it. Yet, this OG Avenger just seems doomed to be largely rejected by the masses, so here's hoping Bishop gets a little more love when wielding the mighty bow.
