10 MCU Characters Fans Love To Hate

There's a very real chance this entry will become outdated by the time Thor: Love and Thunder roars onto our screens later this year. But at this moment of writing, has there ever been a more tepid key player in an MCU entry than that of Jane Foster in her first two Thor outings?

Despite Natalie Portman doing what she could with the role of mortal love interest to The God of Thunder, this talented scientist couldn't help but fall into the stale trope of under-developed damsel in distress - not exactly what you sign up for when watching an Academy Award winner step into the MCU.

By the time The Dark World had thoroughly fumbled Jane Foster, few were exactly angling to see Thor's under-written lover step back into the spotlight. And for a while it looked like her lack of connection with the paying audience had all but confirmed Portman and Foster's farewell to all things MCU, outside of a few passing mentions.

But with Endgame recycling some of the character's previously unused footage seemingly reigniting interest in a Foster comeback, could a Mighty Thor salvage job finally rid her of the painfully boring moniker fans have been all to happy to hurl at the astrophysicist?
