10 MCU Moments Better Than Their Comic Origin
7. The Avengers' First Assembly
Marvel's premier superhero team's first heroic act was a lot grander in scale in the MCU compared to the relatively contained team-up in the comics. Both versions have the build-up behind them, Loki as the main villain, similar rosters (with a few exceptions) and a rampaging Hulk to deal with.
The comics version of the team-up was understandably smaller in scale and barely involved a physical version of Loki till near the story's conclusion, there are bonkers plot beats such as Hulk joining the circus to avoid capture and god-draining volcanoes. It's definitely a classic story and without it, we wouldn't have Earth Mightiest Heroes. However, it lacks any real tension and is very much defined by its era's camp and lightness.
The film version is still a breeze, but with more contemporary and subtle moments of humor and a grand scale befitting the capabilities of the heroes. It also helps that Captain America is a founding member as opposed to joining the team in its later adventures; his presence gives the team a tactical advantage and acts as the team's heart.
