10 MCU Moments Better Than Their Comic Origin

6. The Infinity Saga's Final Showdown

One of the biggest moments in both the MCU and the comics was the climactic battle between the heroes and Thanos following the snap that decimated half the universe's population. Both versions of the conflict were some of the most epic battles in their respective mediums and are excellent showcases for how grand and complex superhero storytelling can be.

Right off the bat, the comic iteration had a wider scope (most of it takes place in space) and a massive cast of characters such as the Silver Surfer, cosmic entities such as Galactus, and the personification of Death. More heroes die in the storyline than its film counterpart and Thanos' grandaughter Nebula is the one who eventually defeats Thanos.

The film adaptation of this story eschews the large cast for a still high number of heroes and supporting characters, is relatively smaller in scope, and takes place on Earth. This grounds the event's proceedings and is more cathartic and emotional, especially during the resurrected heroes' triumphant return and Iron Man's sacrifice. Both versions work well under their specific set of conditions but the film adaptation has more relatable characters, is less convoluted and therefore easier to follow.
