4. Killmonger's Death

The incredible success of the Black Panther film was a win for representation and it introduced wider audiences to the world of Wakanda and its fleshed-out cast of characters. One standout from this group is Erik Killmonger/N'Jadaka(Michael B. Jordan), who was reimagined as T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman)'s cousin in the films.

Despite different family ties, both the comics and film iterations share an intense hatred for the Black Panther and a burning desire to rule Wakanda and establish its global dominance through forceful means. His ideas for Wakanda's prosperity were in conflict with T'Challa's and this led to frequent clashes in the comics medium, some of them leading to his death.

The film version of N'Jadaka suffers a similar fate but his death here (thus far) is more impactful due to it being permanent and it happening on his own terms, wishing to die a free man than live in captivity. It aligns with his desire for his people's freedom from oppression, some of which he has firsthand experience. It's a powerful statement made by one of the MCU's more grounded and captivating antagonists.
