Once again, a very obvious choice, both on a surface level, as well as a deeper one. Sure, there are a wide variety of "Evil A.I. Stories" that you can use as the inspiration for Age Of Ultron. But let's face facts, the most famous one out of all of them might have been the real culprit here.

The Terminator franchise is a series all about not playing god and being careful what you do in the name of protecting yourself. Skynet was created so that America could better defend itself - a decision that directly led to it and the world's downfall - and Ultron was created by Tony Stark after being shown a vision of everyone he loves dying and him wanting to prevent that.

Ultron then proceeds to set into motion events that would lead to the Avengers being hamstrung and divided enough to give Thanos enough of an advantage to win at the end of Infinity War.

Any story made these days about an evil A.I or robot has taken inspiration, knowingly or otherwise, from the Terminator movies. And Age Of Ultron is certainly no different.
