10 MCU Movies That Could Fill Marvel Studios' Empty Release Slots

The final of the four confirmed MCU movies without a release date wasn’t announced until after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was released in its entirety. Captain America 4 will make the franchise only the third in the MCU to enjoy four movies, behind Thor and The Avengers, however this one will not follow Steve Rogers.

In the absence of the original Star Spangled Man, Sam Wilson stepped up in spite of the diversity thrown at him from every angle, and finally became Captain America himself. This was an incredible story, and was portrayed excellently across the Disney+ platform, however the new Cap absolutely deserves to headline his own movie.

Marvel Studios is not only bringing back Anthony Mackie to star, but also Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, who served as head writer and staff writer respectively on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, who will co-write the script.

With no director as of yet attached to the project, though bringing Kari Skogland back may seem like a no-brainer, and no hint of a production start date, the fourth entry in the Captain America series likely won’t see cinemas until 2024.
