6. Captain Carter
The MCU’s TV series in the past have never had much, if any, effect on the movies themselves. The same simply cannot be said about the new Disney+ corner of the franchise, however. Wanda will be a very different character for Multiverse of Madness, Sam Wilson is now Captain America, and Loki and Sylvie have broken open the multiverse.
What If…? could have an even bigger impact on the wider universe. Though each episode takes place within an alternate reality, Spider-Man: No Way Home and the Multiverse of Madness mean that this is not an obstacle for them to cross over into the main MCU continuity.
The first episode of the show introduced to the MCU Captain Carter, a version of Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter that took the super soldier serum. While this particular episode lacked somewhat compared to the rest of the series, the character herself was incredible, and is someone fans need to see more of.
There is a rumour that a live action version of the character could make an appearance in Doctor Strange 2 next year, could this be the stepping stone needed to give her her own MCU movie? Captain Carter could essentially be the franchise’s version of Captain Britain, and any further appearance of Hayley Atwell would be a more than welcome one.
