10 MCU Scenes Everyone Wishes They Could Unsee

Prior to Eternals' release late last year, a lot was written online about the film breaking new ground for the MCU by featuring the franchise's first "proper" sex scene.

With Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao at the helm, there was every reason to believe that she'd be able to deliver a mature and meaningful sex scene that actually justified its existence.

Yet that sadly wasn't the case at all. Quite the opposite, in fact.

The sex scene - which is a rather generous description of it, really - involves Eternals Sersi (Gemma Chan) and Ikaris (Richard Madden) laying naked on the ground and staring at each other while apparently going at it.

What counts as a thrust here is the most mild movement from the actors, ensuring the scene has all the passion of a kid rubbing their Barbie and Ken dolls together.

Obviously nobody was expecting gratuitous nudity from a PG-13 MCU film, and the scene certainly didn't need to be explicit, but it did need to convey the bond between these two characters, which it absolutely didn't, in part due to the actors' patent lack of chemistry.

Considering all the fuss made about the scene pre-release, it's surprising that it's ultimately a fleeting 20 seconds of a 156-minute movie, albeit 20 seconds most of us would have rather have bleached from our brains.
