Many times, waiting for a film to come out is not an option. You need to know what happens after Thanos snaps half the universe away; how Peter Parker is dealing with his revealed identity. But luckily, there’s a way to satiate that hunger while a film is being produced: trailers.

Often, anticipation for the trailer can equal the excitement for the film. This is why big studios like Marvel put a lot of time and effort into making the most outstanding trailers they can make— often finding the perfect clips and moments to grow an interest in both the audience and fans.

Sometimes though, they do their job too well, and next thing you know, a specific portion or moment from the trailer has blown up on Twitter. With comments, reactions, and memes making their way all over the internet. But more than anything, these moments made fans shake with anticipation as they wondered over the possibilities of what the new film had in store. Instances that both defined the movie they appeared in and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole.

10. "Everywhere I go, I see his face" - Spider-Man: Far From Home

After Endgame, it was hard to imagine an MCU without Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. And the trailer for Far From Home acknowledged this.

Released shortly after Endgame, the trailer for the new Spider-Man movie came out in a weird time, a moment when people were still grieving the death of Iron Man and the retirement of Captain America alongside processing all the events from Endgame.

And this moment perfectly encapsulated how everyone felt.

In the first few seconds of the trailer, we see Spider-Man swing through New York as always, only to stop and admire a mural of Tony Stark. Noting how no matter what he does, he always sees the legacy left behind by his father figure. Representing the expectations the character has to live up to and the grief that both he and the rest of the world experienced.

It’s a moment that represents legacy, the role Spider-Man would define moving forward. People didn’t know what to do now that Iron Man was gone. And this moment showed that the world of Marvel wasn’t ready for his departure either.
