10 MCU Trailer Moments That Broke The Internet

5. "He's A Friend From Work" - Thor: Ragnarok

The first two Thor movies were released to underwhelming fan and critic reception. The god of thunder seemingly wasn’t a character that appealed to people. But things changed when the first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok dropped.

It was more light-hearted than previous films, featured Jeff Goldblum, had a more defined style, and the addition of Led Zeppelin made the entire thing come together. But the ending was the part that stood out to people the most.

Thor gets ready to fight in the arena, preparing himself for whatever could be behind that gate. Only to see a familiar face with Bruce Banner and in a moment that seems entirely out of character, he smiles and screams in victory while noting to the Grandmaster that the Hulk is a friend from work—a line suggested by a child visiting the set from the Make-A-Wish foundation.

It was a funny moment, a line that fits perfectly with the scenario, and the scene as a whole worked as a near-perfect teaser for what’s to come.

People were excited to see what the new Thor would be like, and suffice to say; this moment encapsulated that.
