From Frank Henenlotter, director of Basket Case, Brain Damage has easily one of the most bizarre creatures you'll ever see in a movie, and that's quite an accomplishment. This time, the villain is a brain eating parasite that laches on to its victims and makes them kill people. It's not just some mindless parasite, though. The thing has a name, Aylmer, and it actually talks to its host quite a bit.

It doesn't sound dark and sinister, either. No, the thing speaks in a high pitched, totally unassuming voice, saying things like, "Just put me on the back of your neck, and everything will be fine!" Yeah, it's actually kind of polite and friendly. Brain Damage is even more violent than Basket Case believe it or not, including a scene where a woman has her brains ripped out through her mouth. It sure lives up to the title, too, as you will see a lot of brain violence all throughout.

The film is a pretty obvious metaphor for drug use: Aylmer releases some sort of blue chemical inside the victims' brain to make them feel good, hallucinate, and crave more of it. It's just that in this case, the drug happens to also make you want to eat brains. Remember kids: Aylmer, not even once.
