10 Messed Up '80s Horror Movies That Must Be Seen To Be Believed
4. Killer Klowns From Outer Space
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plUXguATsTQOne of the most infamous cult horror movies ever, Killer Klowns from Outer Space really does live up to its legacy. A spaceship arrives on Earth in the shape of a giant circus tent, and lo and behold, a bunch of killer clowns rush out ready to kill everyone. Why? Well, why not?
For a movie about evil killer clowns, this delivers in every single way. Early on it's discovered that the clowns are making cocoons of their victims, hanging them in cotton candy like it's a spider's web. They use popcorn guns to shoot people, throw pies full of acid, and their balloon animals even come to life. The writers of this film clearly thought through how every clown related activity could be turned deadly. In another scene, a clown is making shadow puppets against a wall, and somehow the shadow is able to come to life and eat people. That makes a whole lot of sense. That's just the kind of movie this is: there are absolutely no limits, and anything can happen at any time.
All the laughs are definitely intentional, and you get the sense that the filmmakers are in on the joke. While most of these B-movies will have large stretches of boring scenes spacing out the silly stuff, there's rarely a dull moment in Killer Klowns.
