10 Messed Up '80s Horror Movies That Must Be Seen To Be Believed

Basket Case is without a doubt one of the most grisly horror movies out there, and while it's not intentionally silly, you'll definitely be laughing just at how messed up it is. The film follows Duane, a guy who goes around New York City carrying a basket, which it turns out contains his deformed Siamese twin. The doctors didn't even consider it human, and you can see why: it's just a weird blob of flesh that moans at people and kills them.

The main plot is that Duane and his "brother" set out to get revenge on the doctors who separated them, although they wind up killing people who had nothing to do with it. You might expect the movie to be campy and fun, but it's actually shockingly dark and unpleasant pretty much the whole way through. Take this scene where Duane's brother lunges at a doctor, rips out her tongue, starts gnawing on her neck, and she screams for about a full 60 seconds before he shoves her in a drawer full of scissors and knives. There's no amount of enjoyment to be taken from this; it's just watching a woman scream in pain with sharp objects sticking out of her face.

This is one of those movies that will make you want to take a shower afterwards.
