10 Minor Film Characters Whose Lives Were Probably Ruined Forever

2. Lee - Death Proof

Lee, as played by the beautiful Mary Elizabeth Winstead, is a minor character in Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof - she's the cute one in the cheerleader's outfit that you had a crush on the moment you saw her. Featured in only the second half of the movie only, and as the only character who does not join the others for the car chase final, Lee certainly falls under the "minor character" classification. A famous Hollywood actress, it's Lee who is left behind by her friends as an insurance policy when they head out to the country to test drive a Dodge Challenger. The problem is that the Dodge is owned by a hillbilly named Jasper living out in the middle of nowhere - and it doesn't help that Abernathy, Kim, and Zoe (her friends, apparently), plant a seed in this ugly ogre's mind that Lee might be up for a little hanky panky. She isn't, of course - the girls simply realise that telling this fib is their only chance of driving the car. So off they go, leaving Lee in the clutches of this stranger. First thing's first: the guy is played by the same actor who played filthy rapist, Buck, in Kill Bill. That's surely not a coincidence on Tarantino's part. Secondly, Jasper approaches Lee and laughs menacingly - she gulps (well, she says "gulp" out loud), and that's the last we ever see of her. Chances are, then, that Lee was subjected to some seriously awful stuff out there in the woods - stuff that we don't want to even try to describe. Whilst her friends were facing off against the maniac Stuntman Mike, Lee was probably having an even worse time back at base camp. Enough of an "experience" to ruin her life forever, no doubt.
