10 Minor MCU Moments That Pissed Everyone Off

1. Nick Fury Loses His Eye... To Goose - Captain Marvel

It wasn't exactly much of a secret prior to Captain Marvel's release that the movie was going to almost certainly reveal the cause of Nick Fury's (Samuel L. Jackson) lost eye.

And considering that he told Captain America (Chris Evans) way back in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, "Last time I trusted someone, I lost an eye," there was a reasonable expectation that it would be a major dramatic moment.

Given that Captain Marvel was focused around the shapeshifting Skrulls, it absolutely made sense that one of them would pose as someone close to Fury and then give him a traumatic eye injury during a scuffle.

Yet as it turned out, Fury's ocular impairment came about when the cat-like alien Flerken, Goose, scratched him in the face.

While it tracks enough that Fury would want to play-up the injury as more dramatic than it was in order to reduce his own embarrassment, it was still infuriating that such a major physical aspect of the character was turned into a fleeting, one-note joke.
