10 Mistakes Marvel Need To Avoid With Black Widow

7. The Scale

The mistake: Marvel is known for their big expensive tent-pole films, but as their success continues they seem to think each movie needs to be bigger than the other. But while a massive budget makes sense for The Avengers, or even Captain America films, not every entry into the universe needs to cost $200 million.

The big, globe-trotting spectacles are fun but there's a sense that audiences are looking for something fresh. The giant blockbusters can get tiresome and if Marvel doesn't recognize that they can give us movies of varying sizes than they will likely burn out.

The Solution: Black Widow is the perfect hero to explore through a smaller scale, personal story. Sure, we want some big set pieces but there's no need to through bags of money at the production.

And with a more sensible budget, it could give Marvel a little more faith in the project. The sad reality is that Hollywood believes that female-led films can't find a wide audience (despite a lot of examples to the contrary).

If Marvel has similar concerns, going with a smaller budget could ease them and get this thing into production.
