10 Mistakes Which Ruin Awesome Movie Scenes

3. The Anachronistic Car - Braveheart

Period films are always a goldmine for anachronistic mistakes, and Mel Gibson's Best Picture-winning epic Braveheart takes the cake with several elements which clearly didn't exist in the late 1200s.

During a mid-film battle sequence in which the English cavalry are racing towards William Wallace (Gibson) and his men, keep an eye on the left-hand side of the screen and you just might see a white car clearly parked in the background. Ridiculous.

This isn't the only anachronism throughout the film, though: as Wallace and Hamish (Brendan Gleeson) are talking during the rock throwing contest, a man in the background walks past on the left-hand side of the screen wearing a baseball cap.

Braveheart may receive plenty of flak for its perceived historical inaccuracy, but these basic mistakes make it tough to take some of the movie's bigger moments seriously.
