10 Modern Movie Soundtracks That Are Better Than The Film
8. Interstellar

The movie by Christopher Nolan is pretty awe inspiring, and Zimmer's score is constantly overwhelming us with that feeling. Nolan films are unabashedly sentimental, and Zimmer is able to get across that feeling with this extremely emotional but often exciting score.
Take the example of the great sequence in the movie where Cooper is watching his child grow up before his eyes. It's an incredible, tearjerking sequence, and the score is a huge factor in that. Had music not played a large part in that scene, it wouldn't have been half as effective.
In fact, plenty of the movie's best moments work in large part because of the score. There's also the scene of Cooper saying goodbye to Murphy as he heads off on his mission, as well as the edge of your seat docking sequence.
Then there's this track that closes the movie, which is a reprise of the film's main theme. It's both epic and moving, and as we reach the end of the film and Cooper's closing words fill the theatre, it's hard not to immediately feel like we've just watched something truly epic. Without Zimmer's music, we probably wouldn't feel the same way.
