The main feeling we get from watching How To Train Your Dragon is exhilaration. Especially seeing the film in theatres and in 3D, it truly feels like we're soaring through the air alongside Hiccup and Toothless.

The John Powell score perfectly expresses that feeling. This track plays during the first flying sequence in the film, where Hiccup suddenly finds himself soaring through the air. Even just listening to the music without any visuals at all, it's completely and totally exhilarating.

The movie really gets across the feeling of fun and pure joy you'd get from soaring on a dragon through the air, and a lot of that comes from the Powell score. You can practically feel the wind flowing through your hair as you listen to this.

How To Train Your Dragon 2's score was also pretty great, bringing back just about every major theme from the first film but introducing some new ones too. The opening of the sequel reintroduces the main theme, and seeing all our favourite characters back is one thing, but when that Powell score kicks in, that's the moment when it really feels like we're home.
