After growing up as brothers, fighting together in conflicts like the American Civil War, World War I, World War II and the Vietnam War, and then being recruited by William Stryker in to the same all-mutant strike team called Team X, Wolverine - having found himself to be disgusted by the atrocities committed by his team-mates - abandons Victor Creed and the group. A few years later, Creed starts killing the members of the group and (apparently) Wolverine's lover Silverfox in order to get his attention and they end up fighting. They come to blows again when Creed starts kidnapping mutants on behalf of Stryker and essentially find themselves as each other's arch-nemesis. However, when Stryker releases Weapon XI - the mutant Frankenstein also known as Deadpool - Wolverine finds himself outmatched and Creed comes to his aid. The duo use old tactics to defeat Deadpool, but Creed exits quickly and his whereabouts are currently unknown.
