10 More Actors Who Got High To Shoot Their Movies
4. Peter Dante - Grandma's Boy
Peter Dante's drug dealer character Dante is one of the few highlights in poor Happy Maddison movie Grandma's Boy. He's excruciatingly silly (he wants to adopt a wild lion), but he does at least raise a few smiles in his short screen-time.
He's also a creation of committed method acting, as originally Dante was given fake marijuana to smoke for his scenes, but promptly rejected the idea of playing pretend and instead just went with the real deal. Even though the scene took multiple takes (according to Nick Swardson, more than 20), he kept returning to his very-real bong for very-real hits, and by the end, he was apparently completely done.
Remember kids, don't do drugs. Or not loads of them anyway.
