After being thrust into the Hollywood spotlight on the back of being shuffled in as Charlie Sheen's replacement on Two and a Half Men, Ashton Kutcher was once again seen as a star worth taking a gamble on in 2013. And said gamble ultimately manifested itself in the form of the That '70s Show actor being handed the keys to Steve Jobs' kingdom when it came time to bring a biopic of the Apple founder into being.

Unfortunately, though, this Awards season punt would miss the goal posts by some margin, with Kutcher's performance in Jobs doing little to confirm him as a dramatic powerhouse of his generation. That weak reception makes the fact that Kutcher put himself through a personal hell to try and bring as authentic a performance as possible to the table likely a tough pill to swallow for the star.

Fully dedicating himself to the fruitarian diet as Jobs reportedly did, Kutcher would end up hospital just a few days before shooting was set to begin, confessing that his "pancreas levels were completely out of whack." With Jobs himself having died of pancreatic cancer, Kutcher also admitted to the whole ordeal being "really terrifying."
