10 More Amazing Roles Ruined By Terrible Acting

9. Adrien Brody (Royce) - Predators

The decision to cast Adrien Brody in the role of Royce for threequel Predators was certainly a strange one.

The U.S. Special Operations Forces-soldier-turned-mercenary definitely feels like the sort of person capable of leading this 2010 hunt, with the character being given many a gloriously cheesy one-liner and moment of thrilling action to unleash in the film focusing on a bunch of killers chucked into a Predator game reserve.

It's just a shame then that Brody generally doesn't feel like the right fit for the part of grizzled, sweaty alien-fighting soldier, with everything from the actor's lack of real physical presence to his jarring "action hero" voice sticking out like a sore thumb amidst the rest of the mostly well-cast (and surprisingly stacked!) ensemble.

Brody has proven time and time again he possesses some serious acting chops, of course, producing exceptional and diverse work in the likes of The Pianist and The Grand Budapest Hotel over the years. But he just couldn't deliver in this sci-fi action world, and his weak impression of a tough guy Predator-killer here was anything but believable.

The part itself certainly had potential to be a complicated badass, though, and probably could have been precisely that in the hands of an actor better suited for this sort of action-heavy arena.
